Saw some pillows on etsy made from old t-shirts; how do I do that? Ok I'm not the best sew-er but I could do some decent hand stitching, or my mom has a sewing machine and she's a champion so I could probably sweet talk her into doing some or showing me how. Ideas anyone?

cut off the sleeves and neckline of the shirt, make up a template of the shape and size you want the pillow to be (remember to include a seam allowance of roughly half an inch), place it on the shirt, trace around the template in chalk pencil (or a colouring pencil that will show up!), place the right sides together, sew around three sides where your seam allowance is, turn right sides out, stuff with poly fill or insert a pillow form or old pillow (dollar store pillows are great for this!!!), turn under your seam allowance on the remaining sides and stitch up.
There should be loads of tutorials for making pillow covers on the internet if you want to make removable covers.

I have a glow-in-the-dark Green Lantern shirt the boyfriend gave me for this express purpose. I gotta get on that...
Thanks for reminding me! :D
