Think Of Terry, Won’t You?

This isn’t about me. I could care less about the accolades of cookbook writing. I mean, I do it for the kids man, and that guy on the street that doesn’t know how to grill tempeh. That poor guy.

But Terry. Terry needs this to survive, it’s like her oxygen. Don’t let her down. Don’t let her suffocate.

Vote for me and Terry in the VegNews awards. Second page. You can leave other categories blank if you don’t know so don’t stress. Terry thanks you. Me, I can take it or leave it, you know that.

Just picture a tear in her eye. I know it’s there.

Hi Isa! I am a vegan living in Missouri (shocking, I know…) and I was at a pretty new vegan restaurant in Kansas City called Cafe Seed. The woman who owned the cafe was named Afrikaa and she said that she used to have a bookstore/cafe in Brooklyn and that you worked there for a while! I was so excited to know that there are people even here in Missouri who can do cool things with vegan cooking…and that I ate at a restaurant that had some crazy six degrees of kevin bacon tie to my favorite cookbook author/chef (that would be you!) so i just thought i should tell you that. anyway, she said you were even better at cooking than your great cookbooks showed…if that’s true, the world should be careful, because you could own it at will!!

I voted! (I wish this were one of those oval stickers)

Hi Isa… I live in portland and was having lunch with Jess the other day, and when she mentioned that you live in my neck of the woods I thought I would invite you up to my class at Prananda Yoga. It’s a community class wednesday nights, one hour, $7 cash (dirt cheap!), in the Kenton Neighborhood up by Paul Bunyan. If you haven’t seen Paul Bunyan yet you have to get up there just for the huge-ass statue with a permabaked expression. :) It’s just a couple of max stops northward on the yellow line, website is http://www.prananda.com. The other $7 community class is monday night, but there are classes every day of the week. OK… love the macaroni salad in the V-con. Just like I remember it, but I leave out the peas. Over & out. :)

Hope you win! That is a great photo of you! I fondly remember making a lifetime supply of pesto with you from those zillions of basil growing on my deck in WH.

Hey Isa, It is Ericka/Africka from Think Bookstore in Brooklyn. I saw that one of my customers( from my new spot in KC) left a comment about our work together. I am so proud that you did brunch at my shop, I tell folks all the time. I do think your cooking is better even than your books can show in two dimension and I am happy and proud of your success, can’t wait for the next book!

    Truly Glad
    Africka/Ericka
