Me And Face Together At Last
Despite my Brooklyn Jewish roots, I’ve never been to Florida. But next March I am going to do some cooking classes on this Taste Of Health cruise. I’m not suggesting any one should take the cruise for that reason, I’m just saying that the reason I said yes was so I could meat meet Dirk Benedict from the A-Team. If only everyone had their priorities so straight.

From the list of presenters…will he be making gluten free cupcakes with me?

Exciting!

You want to “meat” Dirk Benedict? Are you sure you’re still a vegan?

Ha ha AM, fixed. What a great typo. Meet is murder.

Wow! That looks like a great thing. I don’t know from Dirk Benedict, but I’m a huge Dr. Neal Barnard fan! Congrats! Have a great time.

I’ve never been to Florida either! I was the only kid in Central NJ without grandparents in Boca.

You with your meat and Dirk Benedict with his prostrate cancer. It’s a pretty challenging world.

*hums A-Team theme song* Ah, Face and his smooth talking ways. He’s definitely your go to guy if drug sumugglers (or other n’er do wells) try to hijack the boat.

I went on the Taste of Health cruise last year (2007)! I went b/c I had never been on a cruise, and wanted to be able to experience one w/o living on pasta & marinara sauce the whole time (cruises aren’t exactly known for being vegan-friendly). I learned a lot about macrobiotics…though I have no desire to change my diet in that direction, some of the food was pretty good. There were a few misses though - they’re uber into their sea vegetables. A little seaweed in a soup or salad doesn’t bother me, but there was seaweed involved in every meal. I also couldn’t really get into the miso soup for breakfast, but that’s just my personal preference. For the most part, I had a fun time…but I can’t say I’d go again, because I discovered I get serious sea sickness. There were some meals I couldn’t eat at all because I was too nauseated from the rocking of the ship.

Did you ever see yourself being a presenter on a cruise?
Congrats,

If it was Howlin’ Mad Murphy, I’d be sold. . .
Just kidding. Sounds awesome! Congrats!

Ummm…those two dudes are total muffins! Yeah. Perhaps if you could, please, give them each a nice smooch (anywhere is fine…really…) from me. Oh! And have a fun time too! March will be here in a snap.

Dirk Benedict cured himself of cancer and other sins against the Universe? So is having cancer a sin against the universe? I’m very confused by the profiles of the other presenters. Sounds like you’ll have a really weird time!

This isn’t about this post, just a question. What’s the deal with all the fake recipe titles in the recipes section? “Puss Licking Stories” comes up when i search “cookie”! And it seems like more than 50% of the titles you click on come up empty…what’s going on?

tee hee.

Hey Paige,
Yeah, the recipe database has been spammed like crazy! I am working on a new recipe database as we speak.

I’ve wanted to go on that for a while. Its cool that theres a cruise where us vegans can actually eat the meals. I hope you have a great time with Dirk:)and you’re presentation goes smoothly!
