Vegan Thanksgiving On Splendid Table
My name gets pronounced correctly and then incorrectly, but, whatever it isn’t about me. (Oh wait, yes it is.)
Listen to The Post Punk Kitchen on Splendid Table. It was actually recorded last year, but better late than never! I am writing from Woodstock where we just did the Woodstock Farm Sanctuary Thanksliving where there were baby lambs in the kitchen with us! I almost ate them because they were so cute and then I remembered that I was vegan. Anyway, listen to this NPR thingy and I’ll update on the dinner and also post some Thanksgiving recipes when I get home tomorrow.
Scroll down to Post Punk Kitchen Thanksgiving or just cut to the chase and listen to our segment here.

Eeeeessa!
Don’t think I didn’t notice Blonde Redhead playing in the background there.
Brilliant!

The onus is on Uncle Ted. so awesome!
I can’t believe I didn’t sound that stupid! I mean, I was rambling, but not that badly!

I love how the hosts say vegan like it’s a bad word.
Ice-a = my hero

That’s not a very eco-friendly apr segment. They’re all, “GLOBAL WARMING EXISTS”. Well no duh, they sent a reporter to Brooklyn from St. Loius to interview Ice-a. How many locally grown reporters are in brooklyn? Tons! Subtract all the ones that can’t pronounce her name and you pretty much have a bus full of guys who probably live in the same building as Isa.
Anyway, that’s so awesome. I’m so proud of you Terry and Isa et al. You may never know all the good you’ve done for the movement.

I call it the “Splenda Table” (I don’t know why other than splenda is a not so good thing?) and I hate it - they talk about schmaltz too much! If only vegans would get on there more often…

Listening to this makes me miss you. Also, I’m using the onus point on my uncle who always passes me the turkey this year.

So cool! The Uncle Ted example is great!

Love the Uncle Ted remark! Also, I love how the lady host says “vegan” like she’s about to hurl.

Did I miss the Thanksgiving Loafins recipe?

My supervisor heard this on NPR, and couldn’t wait to tell me. I’m an old fan of punk but new to the Vegan diet. I’ve always been intimidated by cooking which is why I would eat anything. Now I’m taking better care of myself, so thank you so much for your show. You girls make cooking easy, not the impossible task it one was.
