Hi ! I own a now proudly tattered copy of your VwaV , and know for sure that I have been responsible for at least 5 other copies of that fabulous cookbook being sold...I tell everyone how great it is and bring stuff made from your recipes to various neighborhood ( non-vegan ) events. They all are pretty amazed by the range of flavors and some, I suspect , don't really believe me when I tell them it's vegan...especially the baked goods ! "How can you m make that without eggs? Without milk ? Without butter? !!!" I love it !
September 29th I was tabling vegan literature at an animal sanctuary in Shepherdstown, WV ( http://pigs.org/ ) and brought along a big basket of your oatmeal peanutbutter cookies ( with the tofu, and vegan chocolate chips ) to offer folks as they wandered up, just to break the ice a little bit. Wow! Everyone wanted, and some demanded, the recipe !!! I had brought soem pamphlets from COK and Vean Outreach, but I didnt have the recipe on me. I told people to look on our fledgling vegan society blog/website ( http://www.blueridgeveg.org/2007/09/pigs-sanctuary-visit-and-cookie-recipe.html ) and I would post a link to the website. They really were fantastic ambassadors for the cause !
I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your work, and how you bring a fun irreverent touch to what can be a daunting subject. I love to experiment with cooking and you provide lots of opportunities !
I'm a 51 year old mother of two grown kids. Went vegan a year ago after playing around the edges of vegetarianism for about 20 years. What a liberation and a joy. Hubbie is almost there !
We're going to work on the website some in the next few months and get more 'user friendly' and easier to follow, and more stuff on it.....
again, thanks so much !
Cheers, Dale Ball
