Double Chai
Chai takes on another meaning in these Chai Cupcakes, with a chai stencil. I always thought the Jewish symbol chai simply meant “life” but the internet told me I’m wrong, as usual. I liked when there was no internet and we could just get by with rumor, speculation and bullshittery. At least there is truth in cupcakes. These are from Akiva in Cali. I like to see people getting creative with the stencil.

Just in time for Tu B’Shavat, or the New Year for the trees. I tried to make pomegranate cupcakes to celebrate fruits for the holiday, but they turned out slightly wierd
Next time I will stick with your recipes!

I just found this website after joyfully finding ppk … the boyfriend has decided to come along on my vegan culinary adventure … but had some sadness today when he had to refuse cookies at work. Who could be sad once they see these pictures though? This is an amazing blog, keep it up!
Also, I sent the sushicupcake picture to my dad who has 4 sushi restaurants. I told him he should start making those!! YUM.
Can you please let us know if you have any vegan AND gluten free cupcake recipes? I have celiac disease, so it’s been a long time since I have had a good cupcake, never mind one that is also cruelty free!! THANKS!!!

the chai, chai cupcakes actually read hai, written w/ the letter hey not yud (in that case, the leftest verticle line would totally connect to the upper horizontal line). this word is actually a commonly-used symbol for God. so the moral=making isa & terry’s vegan cupcakes connects the eater to Holiness–yum!

i meant hey not chet (tomato, tomahto–it’s bedtime)

Hai! It’s an artifact of the stenciling. Artistic license.

Try ordering the FLAXseeds from somewhere online. Bob’s Red Mill sells them. Also, when I made these I found it was best to double the amount of lychee and syrup, cut the sugar a bit and only use like 2 Tbsp. coconut milk for the icing, otherwise it is too watery.

Random question: I am starting my own blog to share my photography experiences. Do you find it hard or easy to post consistently?
