Cupquote: Judge Judy
“Don’t spit on my cupcake and tell me it’s frosting.”
I think there is some sort of blogger rulebook (it’s just in hard copy, not on the internet) that says when you start quoting Judge Judy maybe you are running out of things to say. But she’s from Brooklyn, I’m from Brooklyn - that must be a point of interest.

As long you keep making recipes you can quote whatever the heck you want!

Greetings!
My name is Therese Sua and apart from being a recent college graduate based in the Philippines, I’m a vegan who believes in helping others make better, healthier lifestyle choices, in a way free of animal-byproducts, one way as can be seen in food/nutrition. I reside here in the Philippines, and I am looking for baking courses or holistic nutrition courses that I can apply commercially. Would there be such courses? Or perhaps apprenticeships? If so, what would they be? I saw a recent cupcake trend explode here, and I’d like to embark on something like that: cupcakes, confections, chocolate, with tea on the side maybe, but just no animals, period.

Hi Isa,
I’ve just tried making the simple vanilla and agave nectar cupcakes and posted them at my site: http://hereandthere123.blogspot.com/.
Your recipes are wonderful and I’m such a huge fan!
Thanks for putting out this book with your friend Terry. I’ll be making my way through it and posting accordingly.
Your Pal,
Deb

I just took a bunch of your cupcakes to a college dorm Thanksgiving yesterday, and reports are in: college kids give vegan cupcakes mad props! They might even be getting ready to stalk you now. Success!

Michaela - thanks for pointing that out! I’ve linked to it.
Bazu - awesome! But won’t college kids eat anything?
Deb - Thanks for letting us know. Hearts and cupcakes.

I also believe Judge Judy said something along the lines of “Beauty fades, dumb is forever.” She’s worthy of quoting.

I’m pretty sure Judge Judy actually said, “Don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining.” The cupcake quote was from The Simpsons, and was said by a character (Judge Harm) who was quite clearly a reference to Judge Judy. It *could* be that they were directly quoting her, but I find that just a little unlikely, as parodies like to beat around the bush as a rule.
Judge Harm: “Don’t spit on my cupcake and tell me it’s frosting!”
Homer Simpson: *shaking fist* “What did she say about cupcakes?”
