Thanks to everyone who showed up at Moo Shoes last Thursday to celebrate with us! The lighting was bad but the cupcakes were good, and these were the least blurry of the photos we took. Did anyone else get photos?

Lots of people are emailing me for Thanksgiving recipes and I can't email them all back. What I can tell them is that this month's Satya Magazine has a big Thanksgiving spread from yours truly as well as recipes from the traveling chef Joshua Ploeg.

God, grant me the serenity to bake 6 dozen cupcakes in my shoddy oven whose temperature keeps fluctuating and burning the bottoms. The courage to call my landlord and tell him I need a new oven. And the wisdom to know what he will never get me one because what does he care?

Vegan Cupcakes (etc) has been named Cookbook of the Year over at VegNews’ Veggie Awards 2006. Our official response is “Aw, shucks!”

This isn’t exactly the kind of music I like, it’s melodic poppy punk from the 90s and I was just too depressed in the 90s for that sort of thing. Anyway, the lyrics are cute and there is a lesson to be learned; this guy definitely needed an oven thermometer and a kitchen timer. If anyone knows these guys tell them they have a free copy of “Vegan Cupcakes” waiting for them.
