Veganfriendly.com

You may think that the world didn't need another vegan food blog but that's where you'd be wrong. You'd also be wrong if you thought that Pluto were a planet but that's another matter entirely.

Check out Vegan Friendly, the site of my two bestest friends in the whole world. Actually they are probably my 4th and 5th best friends in the whole world but that is all logistics. Join Jim and Evelyn as they navigate the rough terrain that is vegan food in NYC. The thing I like best about it is the complete sentences and the pretty pictures. Why is it so hard for vegans to speak in complete sentences?

Here is the cashew crusted seitan at Candle 79 to tempt you further:

The one thing Vegas is good for

Granted I only spent one night there. We won big on the penny slots (thank you Enchanted Unicorn!) and then lost it all on the nickel slots so maybe I'm just bitter. It's probably a good thing because after we won the five spot I thought for sure that security would usher us out. But the next morning we went to Ronald's Inexplicably Vegan Donuts. Behold!

Here is the Happy Cow Review

Ask the woman behind the counter for the vegan shelves. Yes, shelves. There are two of them!

Terry's Bangs present VEGNIC '06
(special thanks last year's sponsor Eppy's moustache)

Food! Vitamin D! Bird watching! Extreme lounging! Wiffle ball!

Saturday, June 24th
Noon o'clock till the breaka breaka dawn

Prospect Park by the picnic house

What to bring
Stuff for grilling, stuff for drinking, stuff for snacking, pies, salads, you know - edible vegan things.

Also, bring frisbees, wiffle accoutrement. Whatever other kinds of balls you want to bring. NO HACKEYSACKS!

You may want to bring a sheet for sitting, folding chairs and folding tables a plus. Salary commensurate with experience.

Here's 'rections:

F train to 7th Ave. station
Walk uphill on 9th street to Prospect Park West, make left to 5th Street.

2 or 3 train at Grand Army Plaza station.
Walk up Prospect Park West to 5th Street (about 8 blocks)

Enter park at 5th Street and walk straight.

View this pdf map for details of what you'll be walking passed.

Right after you cross the road in the park, we hopefully will be on the left of the picnic house. If we couldn't get a spot there then check the right side. You will know us by the stench of veganism.

If you have questions or anything check out this thread on the PPK forums. Remember, the only stupid questions are the ones that you ask out loud.

Help save veganism!

supercarrotcake set up this map database where you can add your favorite vegan or vegan-friendly restaurants. Add your favorites. Or ones you think are mediocre. Or whatever. Wait, not whatever. Keep it clean!

Also, click on her livejournal for yummy cupcake surprises. And chocolate coated things.

Hey, I have that plate!

I should have posted this days ago but if you are on the internet tonight instead of with loved ones then please come to Food Fight tomorrow at 1 pm and get your cupcakes! I will love you if no one else will.

Also, 4 episodes of PPK are on google video now. Go watch them before they are removed for being too long.

If you are feeling really internet savvy you can also Bit Torrent them. The quality is much better that way.

It's really difficult not to post pictures of cupcakes.
